I always try and find different kind of fabric purses with unique handles. And when I do, I try and make them out of cardstock. This is the case with these 2 giftbags.
This one measures about 4 1/2 wide x 4 inches tall. As I said, I got the Idea for the handle from a fabric purse. You just slip the cardboard handle base thru some fabric. I did like that effect. I just added some ripped fabric strips for the handles.
I chose to add a little key charm.
It's hard to see but the sides have pleats.
I stamped all over my cardstock.
I like adding pockets to the front of my purses.
I got the tutorial for this purse from Teri Pocock. I just changed the handle part, but the purse base is per her tutorial.
Again, the handle idea is from a fabric purse.
I chose to add a pocket to the front of this purse with a button I made.
I added an eyelet to the side to add some charms. I cut out a heart from some old negatives and added also a negative strip to the charm. You can't see it, but it has a "hello" tag.
It's hard to see but this bag also has side pleats.
A back view. The paper for this purse I designed myself.
Just to give you an idea what to put inside, I made a mini clipboard, a coffee dyed paper pad...
... a hidden paperclip with pocket and a pocket with tags and a mini pen.
These were fun to make. Thanks to Teri for the inspiration. Renate
