Specimen Slides/Cards 4 ways.

I was deciding on what my next project would be. So I came across specimen slides and cards. This is my version.

For the larger size slide I've seen a tutorial from Tamara at Etcetorize. I just didn't make mine see through, since I wanted more journal space.

Here is the smaller version. I don't have butterflies, so I used my old stamps as the focal point. In the top left corner I added an eyelet. I have an old German business stamp, and I stamped it on cardstock and then just cut it apart to use as charms. The longer one is the road name where I grew up in Germany. 6906 is the zip code. And of course I added my negative strip.

Plenty of room for journaling.

Back view.

This is the bigger version, that Tamara showed in the video. Again I used old stamps.

I used my typewriter to make the specimen tags. Like above, I added an eyelet to the left corner.

Plenty of room to journal.

... and more journal space on the back.

Here I made a longer specimen card. I typed out all the labels. There's plenty of room to journal on the back. For the background I used burnt umber and burnt orange acrylic paint. I typed the charm tags and used stamps to complete them.

For this little journaling booklet, I found a tutorial from Monica Taylor.

For the background I choose victorian velvet ink. Then I stamped over it with text, and on top of that some Gesso. Behind the negative I laid a piece of coffee dyed cheese cloth. And on top of the negative I just glued another stamp. As per her video, I didn't make a slide frame for it.

You open it up and have a lot of journaling space.

On the next flip I added a pocket with plenty of ephemera. On the right I attached it with a mini paperclip.

Stuffed pocket.

These are the pieces I stuffed in the pocket. I made my pocket where I scored 1/2 in. on 3 sides and fold it in. This gives me more room inside the pocket.

A jar tag I made while back. The one charm says - mountains -.

After I stamped my ticket stamps I painted them with water color.

And on the back more room for notes.

That was fun to put together. Thanks to the Ladies for the inspiration.
